“Cold pressed” or, more precisely, “cold extracted” means the oil was obtained at no more than 27 °C. That is what EU law says. Low temperatures protect aromas and polyphenols. Higher temperatures increase the yield but cost flavour.
Cold pressed and extra virgin are not the same thing. Extra virgin is a grade with limits and a tasting. Cold extracted describes the temperature during extraction. A good olive oil is both.
