A tea with a long tradition & history

Olive leaf tea is one of the best-loved traditional herbal teas of the Mediterranean. For centuries it has been part of everyday life there: brewed at home, shared with family and enjoyed cup by cup.

Every olive harvest tells its own story

During the harvest, olive leaves fall to the ground quite naturally. They are part of the olive tree's life cycle. For us, this is where something valuable begins.

These leaves naturally contain polyphenols such as oleuropein, plant compounds that have been part of the Mediterranean way of life for centuries.

Instead of leaving these leaves unused, we made a conscious decision to process them with care into a high-quality tea naturally rich in polyphenols.

Many see a by-product. We see real value.

What makes olive leaves special:

Olive leaves naturally contain a wide range of plant compounds. The best known are:

- Oleuropein
- Bitter compounds
- Polyphenols such as hydroxytyrosol

They give the tea its typical mild, herbal character with a light bitterness. Around the Mediterranean, olive leaves have been valued in traditional food culture for centuries.

What's in the leaf

Olive leaves bring a few natural characteristics to your cup:

Oleuropein

The best-known polyphenol in olive leaves. It is responsible for the light, typical bitterness.

Hydroxytyrosol

Another polyphenol found naturally in the olive tree, in its leaves as well as in its fruit.

Bitter compounds

They give olive leaf tea its clear, herbal taste: mild at first, with a gentle finish.

Nothing added

Nothing else goes into the bag: no flavourings, no sugar, no additives. Just olive leaves.

Annette verified customer

With my second order from Ölich I chose the "tea incl. strainer and oil" offer. The olive oil had already won me over. So had the PURE olive leaf tea, so I was curious about the other teas. The other blends really taste very good too [...]. The stainless steel tea strainer included in the offer is very robust and sturdy. I have had others like it that felt much flimsier. If you also sold the olives themselves in a jar... I would buy them straight away. 🥰 Many thanks and best wishes from a convinced Annette

What is in olive leaf tea?

Only olive leaves: 100% leaves from our family groves on the Gulf of Edremit, gently air-dried and cut. No flavourings, no sugar, no additives.

Olive leaves naturally contain polyphenols such as oleuropein and hydroxytyrosol. They give the tea its typical mild, herbal taste with a light bitterness.

What does olive leaf tea taste like?

Everyone experiences the taste of olive leaf tea a little differently, but it is often described as slightly tart. Some describe it as bitter or nutty, others as pleasant or fresh. You can change the taste with how you brew it, or with a little lemon or honey. The best way to find out is to try it yourself.

How many cups can I drink?

There is no single answer, because it varies from person to person. We recommend no more than 2–3 cups a day.

Can I drink the tea during pregnancy?

If you are pregnant, please talk to your doctor before drinking it.

Can I drink it in the morning and in the evening?

Yes. Olive leaf tea is naturally caffeine-free, so it suits any time of day: as a calm start in the morning or as a quiet ritual in the evening.

Can children drink the tea?

Olive leaf tea is a herbal tea with a distinct taste. For children under 12, please check with your doctor first.

The leaves are washed, spread out on large trays and air-dried in the shade. No direct sunlight, so that structure, colour and natural plant compounds are preserved.

  • Only then are the dried leaves cut into smaller pieces, for easy dosing and a balanced flavour in every cup.

B. Pure taste
