The Kaz Dağları, known in antiquity as Mount Ida, rise in the north of the Turkish Aegean behind the Gulf of Edremit. The highest peak reaches around 1,770 metres. The slopes are densely wooded, and down on the coast the olive groves begin.
Between mountains and sea a special climate develops: the forests store moisture, and mild air comes in from the sea. This is the landscape where the olives for our Ölich Olive Oil grow.
