Ayvalık is an olive variety named after the coastal town of the same name on the Gulf of Edremit. It has been grown in the northern Aegean for generations and is widespread there. It is also known by the name Edremit.
The Turkish Aegean has several important olive varieties. Our Ölich Olive Oil comes from Edremit and is made from a single variety, Memecik. No blend, one single variety.
