Olive oil is a juice, not a fat. Like any juice it changes over time: aroma and polyphenols slowly decrease. The best before date says little about this, because it is usually counted from bottling. The harvest date, on the other hand, shows when the olives actually came off the tree.
Ölich has the harvest date on every bottle. So you know exactly how fresh your oil is. It is worth checking for any olive oil you buy.
