Kidney Beans with Olive Oil

Beans are one of the most famous dishes in Turkish cuisine, the trace of which was "inherited" from Ottoman cuisine. Appetizers and side dishes called "meze" make up an important part of this cuisine. Kidney beans are one of those appetizers or mezes.


500 gr. fresh kidney beans

1 Onion

1 Carrot

2 Potatoes

3 Tomatoes

1 Garlic clove

2 Tablespoons tomato paste

3 Glasses of water

4 Tbsp Ölich olive oil

Some Ölich Aegean sea salt

Some black pepper

    Add the oily olive oil to the pressure cooker and when it gets hot, add the onions and let them soften, then add the carrots and fry, add the potatoes and just keep frying.

    Then add the garlic and turn this over and then add the kidney beans.

    Add tomato paste and 2 tomatoes and fry until the smell of the tomato paste crystallizes.

    Add water, sugar, salt and pepper, cover the pressure cooker and cook for 12-15 minutes.

    Add 1 tomato at the end and let it rest.
